WASHINGTON — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet Tuesday in Paris with US peace envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner — one day after naming a critic of President Trump as his new economic adviser, calling her “highly skilled,” despite Trump describing her as “toxic” and “terrible.” Freeland, meanwhile, gloated about Trump disliking her during her unsuccessful bid in January to lead Canada’s Liberal Party, which she lost to Carney — even clipping footage of the US president dissing her to use in her campaign videos. “Right now, Ukraine needs to strengthen its internal resilience – both for the sake of Ukraine’s recovery if diplomacy delivers results as swiftly as possible, and to reinforce our defense if, because of delays by our partners, it takes longer to bring this war to an end.
