"Because as you see in the protests in universities, there is the flag of the sun and the lion and they are chanting 'Javid Shah.' The most advanced U.S. aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, sailed through the Strait of Gibraltar over the weekend and is now in the Mediterranean Sea, moving closer to the Middle East. The Ford and its strike group of cruise-missile destroyers, littoral combat ships and likely at least one submarine joined the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and its accompanying vessels, which have been in the region for nearly a month — creating what officials describe as the largest U.S. military buildup in the Middle East since the 2003 Iraq War.
