Residents and RSL members were joined by local schools, councillors, parliamentary members, community groups and former soldiers at Epping’s RSL and Whittlesea Secondary College to commemorate those who sacrificed their lives for those back home. The services included speeches from RSL president Raymond Long (Whittlesea) and Kevin Ind (Epping), as well as a laying of the wreaths by local veterans, school kids, community members, and councillors and parliamentary members. As everyone came together to mark the anniversary of the ending of the first world war through the one minute of silence, one message rang through louder than anything else.
