Inflation of a multi-purpose practice dome alongside the historic stadium was completed Monday, signifying the final stages of the Peoria Public Schools' $11 million revamp of its athletic home at 315 E. War Memorial Drive. The $8 million athletic dome — situated in the empty lot north of the football field and baseball diamonds of the 82-acre facility — was originally planned to be completed in Fall of 2024, but delays pushed the last step of Peoria Stadium's renovation until late 2025. Some of the highlights of the dome will be a translucent skylight, suspended LED lighting, heating and cooling units and a pair of TrackMan Golf Simulators.
