In perhaps the most unexpected crossover of the political and music worlds this year, Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (age 83) brought his signature brand of politics to young fans at Coachella on Saturday night — yes, that Coachella. “The country faces some very difficult challenges, and the future of what happens to America is dependent upon your generation,” Sanders shouted to the crowd of festivalgoers. “I’m here because Clairo has used her prominence to fight for women’s rights, to try to end the terrible, brutal war in Gaza, where thousands of women and children are being killed,” he said.
