US President Donald Trump declared that the war in Gaza “is over” while speaking to reporters shortly after boarding Air Force One on Sunday for a flight to Israel. Trump is expected to address the country's parliament as well as meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the families of the hostages taken on October 7, 2023. Trump will be accompanied on his visit to the region by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, along with a host of other high-ranking administration officials.
