Volunteers working to identify missing WWI soldiers through DNA testing


The grave is a remnant from the Battle of Fromelles, widely considered to be the worst 24 hours in Australian military history. In 2008 work started on uncovering the final resting place of soldiers who went missing without a trace in the WWI battle of Fromelles in France. The lost soldiers from the battle of Fromelles represent just a small portion of unidentified Australians from World War I, Mr Ryan said.
