Virginia State Police remember fallen officers during memorial service

“While the stories of their lives and the circumstances of their deaths were all very different, they all joined the Virginia State Police because they believed in the noble calling to serve and protect, despite the risks,” Col. Matthew Hanley, superintendent of Virginia State Police, said. “As we come together today to remember, we also must express extraordinary gratification and gratitude for all of the men and women and their families who stand strong in the face of evil,” Gov. “The men and women of the Virginia State Police not only commit themselves to this, but they do it with a willing heart, a servant’s character and an unwavering pledge to serve,” Youngkin said.
