The US Coast Guard, with the support of the Pentagon, has seized another oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, US Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said on X. "The United States will continue to pursue the illicit movement of sanctioned oil that is used to fund narco terrorism in the region," Noem said on Saturday, while posting an unclassified video of the reported incident. Brazilian leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva earlier warned on Saturday at a Mercosur summit that a US military operation in Venezuela could trigger "a humanitarian catastrophe for the hemisphere and a dangerous precedent for the world."
