Chief minister Pramod Sawant said on Saturday that urban naxalites, who are present in Goa, are instigating specific people in the state to create unrest, and that Goa police should act to nullify the movement.Speaking on urban naxalites at a state-level conference to disseminate the outcome of the DGs and IGPs conference, 2025, Sawant, who is also home minister, said, “Who says there are no urban naxalites in Goa? Sawant urged govt officers to suggest various steps, including reforms, to stop such incidents in the near future.Sawant said that govt is concerned about the safety and security of citizens and tourists coming to the state. It should be resolved at their level,” he said, adding that everyone should work in coordination to improve the image of the state.The CM said that a lot of international-level events take place in the state, and it is the duty of officers to work to improve the state’s image at the national and global level.
