Speaking to reporters in Brussels, Veldkamp said, "We will look into what we can do also in relation to Mr. Trump's announcements and take it from there," adding that "we're looking into that with a positive inclination." Veldkamp also said he was pleased to see the bipartisan support in the US for a sanctions package that has the support of 87 out of 100 senators. "It's very important that the US is on the move and that we're on the move together as EU," he said, adding that he hopes the bloc will approve the 18th sanctions package "sooner rather than later."
