For months, rumours have swirled that the US is eager to step back from the role and allow a European general to take command. To the man who asked him how he liked it, he said: ‘If it wasn’t for the honor of the thing, I’d rather walk.’” The United States has spent trillions for the “honor” of being the head of NATO troops.
