Writing on his Truth Social account after talks at the White House with Zelensky and his key Western European backers, Trump said he had discussed the possibility of such a meeting during a phone call with Putin. “At the conclusion of the meetings, I called President Putin, and began the arrangements for a meeting, at a location to be determined, between President Putin and President Zelensky,” Trump wrote. Trump said the meetings focused on security guarantees for Ukraine, which “would be provided by the various European Countries, with a coordination with the United States of America.”
