The Spaniard will still have to jab his way inside, but he’s damn good at doing so, and it’s not like Oliveira is one to avoid a firefight and play the distance game. If and when Topuria does find the pocket and the clinch isn’t an option, Oliveira is better off firing a knee or a right hand than trying to pull away all the time — that’s how he gets clipped leaning backward and hits the canvas hard. He’s going to hurt Oliveira, and unlike many past opponents, Topuria has the ground skill to force the finish when it happens.
