His belief in survival of the fittest drives him to reshape the world in his image. Though the X-Men were able to surmount Apocalypse’s power, it took the full force of the team and the Phoenix. Against such hunger, resistance is futile, and in both cinematic examples it took the combined might of the Fantastic Four characters and the Silver Surfer to simply delay him.
