The Branchers said Isabel was reported to have started trading in opals around this time, eventually gaining her title as the "Opal Queen", known for a belt she wore made from the precious gems. Artists visiting the Eulo Queen Hotel are often asked to create a portrait of the Opal Queen, which is then hung up in the pub. But Mr Gray was arrested on a bigamy charge, according to a 1904 article in the Charleville Times that referred to Isabel as the Eulo Queen.
