That said, the MCU has recently delved more into the judgement and persecution those with powers face, as can be evidenced in Ms. Marvel with Damage Control's efforts to persecute and detain people with enhanced abilities - which is important to establish before the X-Men become focal figures in the main MCU timeline, since this kind of prejudice is a key part of the team's story. Delving into why someone might feel as though they have to hide their powers in the present-day MCU would be a major storyline by itself, but also be one that helps set up the X-Men's impending arrival in the universe, since this is the exact kind of scenario that comes up time and time again for the team's heroes in their own arcs, and foreshadows this kind of plotline being a part of other character's stories. While it seemed potentially impossible for a while for the MCU to incorporate the X-Men into its world, that hasn't ever stopped the franchise from using storylines that helped set up the idea of the X-Men being viable for the franchise somewhere down the line.
