The piece of furniture is surrounded by Taglietti's colourful sketches, ideas for a cafe in the city airport, a pitch for a visitor centre at Red Hill, and thoughts about what the outskirts of the capital could look like. That answer came in the form of the Italian Embassy in 1967, Dickson Library in 1968, the Flynn Primary School in 1972 and Giralang Primary School in 1974, among other designs. "I think watching, looking, absorbing, not dictating — I think that's a really critical part of his architectural approach and that's why we've called the exhibition Life in Design because it's responding to the life of people," she said.
