A Matter of Life and Death, Hiroshima Mon Amour, The Others, The Last Emperor, Wings of Desire, Le Petit Soldat, Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Mr Klein, Cluny Brown, The Manchurian Candidate, The Spy that Came In from the Cold, The Great Dictator, and Atonement all feature mentions of a War (or the aftermath of one)...yet few people consider them War movies. I remember watching it on TV a bunch of times when I was a kid and getting to stay up late because it was really long.
