With its low-slung silhouette, clean horizontal lines, and a signature wide-mesh grille, the Comète was widely considered one of the most beautiful cars of its era. Today, only a handful of good examples are known to exist in the United States, making this an exceptionally rare piece of Franco-American automotive collaboration that preceded Jean Daninos’ later Facel Vega marque. The 1953 Facel Ford Comète remains one of the most sophisticated examples of Franco-American collaboration in automotive history.
