Sydney's Luna Park celebrates 90 years as rowdy wartime history revealed


In a 1989 interview, one of the Luna Park's former owners, Ted Hopkins, said that the dimmed lights increased the park's popularity, particularly with couples. The influx of military brought with it sex workers who would gather under the Harbour Bridge, waiting for men to enter or leave the amusement park. He said he was happy to see the owners of Luna Park not focus too much on the past.
