The museum’s opening in Brněnec was timed to match the 80th anniversary of World War II close, according to The Associated Press (AP). “We had to flee for our lives, lost a bit of our history, so putting a little bit of history back to a place and hopefully bringing out as well the history of Oskar Schindler and the village is what we’re doing today,” Löw-Beer told the AP. Situated within a partially restored spinning mill, the museum chronicles the lives of Oskar Schindler, his wife Emilie and the Holocaust survivors through a variety of exhibitions, survivor testimonies and more.
