On Sunday evening, the court made an interim decision in a petition dealing with restrictions on prayer at the Western Wall and ordered the immediate increase of the number of worshipers allowed in the plaza to 100 people. The Shas party condemned it as “a trampling of the sanctity of Shabbat" and said it would file a complaint against the judges after the holiday. Deputy Communications Minister Yisrael Eichler described the decision as “a declaration of war against the sanctity of Shabbat," accusing the judges of being disconnected and intent on harming Jewish tradition.
