As part of the latest June 2025 State of Play, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is the long rumored remaster of the classic. The original Final Fantasy Tactics appeared in 1997 for the first PlayStation console, and it follows the story of Ramza Beoulve, a noble knight cadet who gets involved in a military conflict known as The Lion War. The game received a 2007 enhanced port released for the PSP under the title Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions.
