Jerry Grant, founder of MR Detailworx in Sellersburg, was recently chosen to help restore the famous presidential jet along with some other historic aircraft.Grant was picked as a member of the Air Force One Detailing Team, a group of volunteer professional detailers from across the country.The team gathered at the Museum of Flight in Seattle to clean, restore, and do preservation work on a variety of famous aircraft.The Air Force One model Grant worked on was used by every president from Dwight Eisenhower to Ronald Reagan.Grant and the team also worked on a B-29 Superfortress that fought in the Pacific during World War II, a Concorde that was one of the last supersonic passenger planes to fly, and a Lockheed Constellation.He also got to work on some Blue Angels fighter jets.
