Hurd told CNN that farmers and steel manufacturers in his district have been impacted by the tariffs, and “at the end of the day, I looked at the Constitution, I looked at what was in the best interest of my district, and I took the vote. “I’m disappointed in the vote, but the president has veto power, and there’s not a two-thirds majority in both chambers to override the veto, so it’s not going to change the policy in the end anyway,” he told reporters.
