Towards the end of his second term as the Rivers State governor, Wike embarked on a massive commissioning of infrastructural projects that brought him into the limelight as the best governor in terms of state development at that time. I thought the state of emergency would have taught everyone a lesson and found some ways of resolving the crisis for the benefit of the people of the state, but it seemed to have strengthened Wike’s group to kill the state developmentally. With the way Fubara started his developmental activities, I believed that Rivers might be the first state in Nigeria to provide electricity throughout the state on a joint venture with the private sector and without assistance from the Federal Government, after completing the road infrastructure.
