More and more clubs are focusing on youngsters with resale value, which in turn leads the selling clubs to raising the price of their young, talented players. If Anderlecht were able to rake in €25m for De Cat, that would make the teenager their second most expensive sale in their history (more or less tied with Axel Witsel), just behind Jérémy Doku’s €27m move to Stade Rennais in 2021. De Cat’s contract expires in 2027, so if Anderlecht cannot renew his contract, they might have to sell him for a cut price fee 9n 2026.
