Five persons were arrested on charges of possessing and attempting to sell illegal arms and ammunition on Saturday late night, police said on Sunday.Kotwali DSP Prakash Soy said, “Acting on inputs, Md Kabeer (38) alias Bablu was arrested from Hindipiri. He also revealed the names and details of his four associates.”“Based on Kabeer’s revelations, police carried out raids at Pundag, Namkum, and Sukhdeonagar areas and arrested Shahnawaz Alam, Mohammad Saif of Namkum, Anuj Thakur of Sukhdeonagar, and Ankit Kumar from Bihar. Six pistols, including four country-made pistols, and 110 live cartridges were confiscated from them,” he added.“During interrogation, they confessed that they brought arms from Munger in Bihar for selling those in Ranchi.
