PlayStation Gamers Demanding Refund Over Surprise New Exclusive

While this wouldn't be as much of a problem if it were a shorter game or the co-op mode was unlocked after a certain level of progression, the roughly 15–20 hours of playtime will take a considerable time investment to not only beat once, but then be willing to replay it all over again with a friend right after completion. With the trailer making Sons of Sparta seem like a creative God of War prequel with the series' first-ever co-op mode, many players went into the game thinking they would be able to experience it from start to finish with a friend, and feel unfairly cheated that they were locked out of the experience from the start. Although Santa Monica Studio hasn't put out an official statement regarding the co-op controversy outside their PSA, some fans are still holding out hope that the developers will put out a patch that unlocks the mode from the get-go, especially after dozens of players are already requesting refunds for God of War: Sons of Sparta after not getting what they initially expected.
