Israel’s war in Gaza is losing support rapidly, with the UK, France and Canada all now saying it is “intolerable, unacceptable and wholly disproportionate.” And if the United States pulled its aid and suspended its arms sales, Israel’s war on Hamas would end very quickly. Now debate has moved a long way beyond Israel’s right to defend itself and is increasingly centered on whether it is committing war crimes and whether the US should wield its influence to make it stop.
