People with HIV groan as hospitals run out of test kits

To further examine the impact of the funding cuts on HIV response across the country, PUNCH Healthwise spoke to People Living with HIV and the coordinators of the Network of Persons Living with HIV and AIDS across the six geopolitical zones in the country. She also fears for the future of PLHIV if the ad hoc staff of the donor partners leaves, pleading with the government to absorb the staff working in the facilities. Efforts to obtain NACA’s reaction were unsuccessful, as the agency’s Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Mrs. Toyin Aderibigbe, told our correspondent that the Director-General, Dr. Temitope Ilori, the official best positioned to address the issue was out of the country.
