Harris and Trump sparred for more than 90 minutes, during which time the vice president successfully baited the former president into airing personal grievances. The political scion abandoned that endeavor and launched an ill-fated independent bid for president, which he suspended before endorsing Trump, who has pledged to put Kennedy on his transition team if he wins. Kennedy went on to blame the Biden-Harris administration for higher costs, rising suicide rates, rising overdose rates, and the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.
