DIBRUGARH, July 6: In a successful counter-insurgency operation, troops of the Assam Rifles from Wakka Company Operating Base (COB) under the Khonsa Battalion neutralised a suspected militant of the NSCN(K-YA) faction in Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district, close to the Indo-Myanmar border. A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of a temporary insurgent hideout and the body of one militant. The operation has been seen as a significant blow to the NSCN(K-YA) faction and underlines the Assam Rifles’ commitment to maintaining peace and security along India’s northeastern frontiers.
