If the studio chooses to negotiate with Paramount, it could officially reopen its bidding war with Netflix. Board members might believe that the company's bid could be more beneficial than its current deal with Netflix, or it might convince the streamer to alter its offer as well. The streamer would also be allowed to either match or raise its offer if it wants to continue the auction.
