According to What on Netflix?, director Greta Gerwig was spotted in London filming the project, but people were a little confused that all aesthetic signs seemed to be pointing to a story in the 1950s and not during World War II. The Witch and the Wardrobe, the first movie out of the gate, is reportedly The Magician's Nephew, which is a prequel to the entire series. Netflix acquired the rights to make more films and television series based on the books back in 2018, but it took quite a while for the streaming service to get anything off the ground.
