The root of the tragic killings in DC is the belief — which far too many hold — that judging a person by the group to which they belong is proper (“Mourning ‘beautiful souls,’ ” May 26). As the left cheers for the murder of two innocents and continues their pathetic rants against Israel, one fact continues to elude them: The suffering in Gaza could cease in a minute were Hamas to lay down its arms and unconditionally surrender. I am very familiar with the Capital Jewish Museum, having visited there a number of times, where the staff assisted me in the writing and publication of my book, “The Jewish Community of Washington, D.C.”
