After Loki kills Thor in Al Ewing's The Immortal Thor, the God of Thunder faces his own rebirth as the mortal Sigurd Jarlson in The Mortal Thor. Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder brushes off Thor's transformation in a quick montage, and Thor once again behaves like the cocky, irresponsible king-to-be god that the MCU introduced back in Phase 1's Thor. Marvel Comics' The Mortal Thor has much more time to develop Thor's human story than Avengers: Endgame and Thor: Love and Thunder.
