This weekend’s Subway Series marks Soto’s first games in the Bronx since he struck a career-high 41 home runs in his lone season with the Yankees, helped lead them to the World Series, and then chose the Mets in an unprecedented offseason bidding war. There were hearty chants of “Grisham’s better” in reference to Trent Grisham, the hot-hitting outfielder whom the Yankees acquired in the same December 2023 trade with the San Diego Padres that gave them Soto.
