Mumbai: The state cabinet on Tuesday cleared the public-private partnership (PPP) policy, under which projects worth more than Rs 25 crore will have to be cleared by the cabinet sub-committee for infrastructure headed by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. However, the ongoing projects will have to be completed as per the terms and conditions of their concession agreements and tender documents.The cabinet also approved setting up a PPP unit under the planning department and units in other departments as per their requirements, and the setting up of a PPP cell in the Maharashtra Institute for Transformation (MITRA).These policies will provide capital and skilled manpower to boost the development of infrastructure in the state and give a boost to the economy, officials said. This vision document includes 100 initiatives.The aim is to take the state's economy to one trillion dollars by 2029.For this, many projects are underway in the state and new projects will be undertaken in the future.
