The EU's ambassador to Australia says Australia and the EU need to "team up" to defend and protect our rules, values and democracies, and promote free trade. Australia and the EU have agreed to restart negotiations on an Australia-EU free trade deal after discussions broke down in 2023. Making his pitch for a free trade deal with Australia, Ambassador Gabriele Visentin says the EU is a "reliable and predictable" trading partner.
