Given the RBA has reconfirmed their hesitance to use the monthly CPI figures because they don't cover every item in the CPI basket, have you got any word on when the ABS will begin releasing the complete monthly CPI figures? As you note, the RBA expressed its desire to wait for the full quarterly consumer price index (CPI), which will be released in July 30, before moving on rates, which raises the question, why bother with the monthly report if weight isn't being put on it? "The introduction of a complete monthly CPI will significantly enhance decision-making for both government and the Reserve Bank of Australia, providing them with more precise and timely data to inform fiscal and monetary policies," the Bureau's website notes.
