YINGKIONG, July 26: The 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed with patriotic fervour across Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, with programmes held in all 28 districts to honour the bravery and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War of 1999. Celebrations in the remote border district of Upper Siang saw the participation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Kaling Moyong, who felicitated several retired defence personnel and their family members in a tribute to their committed service to the nation. The official statement further mentioned that the evening Mashal rally in Yingkiong town witnessed the participation of hundreds of BJP workers and local residents, who marched in honour of the martyrs and in solidarity with the armed forces guarding the international borders under challenging conditions.
