Gaza residents will be provided with tents and other shelter equipment starting from Sunday ahead of relocating them from combat zones to "safe" ones in the south of the enclave, according to the Israeli military. This comes days after Israel said it intended to launch a new offensive to seize control of northern Gaza City in a plan that raised international alarm over the fate of the strip, home to about 2.2 million people. "This policy will have a devastating and irreversible impact on our ability to bring injured and critically ill children from Gaza to the United States for lifesaving medical treatment — a mission that has defined our work for more than 30 years," it said in a statement.
