The Federal Government has said it is working to ensure the safety and return of Nigerians stranded in Qatar and Iran following regional tensions that disrupted travel and left many passengers unable to continue their journeys. The ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, told The PUNCH that the government’s immediate priority was Nigerians in the most vulnerable areas, particularly those in Iran and Israel, where the security situation has made evacuation more complicated. While acknowledging the hardship faced by the affected citizens, the spokesperson said the ministry was carefully weighing different options that would guarantee both safety and cost-effectiveness for the government.
