On top of that, EIHC said it expects to see a spike in new patients coming in from other clinics because EIHC will see them even without being able to pay. While there’s a chance many people could lose their Medicaid coverage, others could be exempt, including anyone that is pregnant, takes care of a child under the age of 6, or receives disability benefits. “We are preparing for war in time of peace right now just because we know that we’re literally a year and a couple of weeks away from these major changes happening at the federal level,” Locke said.
