The man, who was not identified, allegedly drove up alongside agents during an immigration raid in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood and fired a few rounds before speeding off in a Jeep. The Department of Homeland Security announced that it had taken the “criminal illegal alien from Mexico” into custody on Monday, and revealed he had prior convictions for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon or vehicle, felony possession of a weapon and illegal entry, on X. The agency added that the man was “marked as a violator of the Laken Riley Act, pending charges relating to assaulting officers.”
