Social media and entertainment reinforce the lie that careers rather than children and family are the fountainhead of worth and happiness. Getting married and having children is almost at the bottom of a list of priorities for young women (18- to 29-year-olds) who voted for Kamala Harris, an NBC poll found. Nearly half of young female singles believe single women are happier than married women, while only 32% of them think marriage and children lead to fuller, happier lives.
