IMHO the Gaza protests were a false flag put up by Hamas to make it look that are some "innocents" in Gaza, to make Israel look bad. Until now, Israel had won the narrative that it's not up to Israel to distinguish between Hamas and civilians, especially since Hamas attacked Israel's citizens, while the attackers themselves wore civilian clothes.
