GUWAHATI, July 26: Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Saturday led the state in paying homage to the bravehearts of the Kargil War by laying a floral wreath at the State War Memorial at Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Emphasising that the true strength of a democratic India lies in its defenders, the Governor reminded citizens that the sacrifices made by the armed forces uphold the sovereignty and dignity of the nation. Expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the families of the soldiers, he said that the silent strength and sacrifices of these families elevate the stature of the country on the global stage.
